M. Andrew Sway Award for Outstanding Service to Combat Insurance Fraud Award
The Ohio Chapter’s friend and colleague, M. Andrew "Andy" Sway, was the legal adviser of our organization for four years, until his untimely death in 2013. Andy was so much more than a legal adviser to our chapter, though. He was a trusted friend, a valued colleague and a valuable ally in the fight against insurance fraud in the state of Ohio. He could always be counted on to assist our organization and its members in any situation, and always offered the most sound advice and wisdom.
At the June 11, 2013, meeting of the Board of Directors, a proposal was presented to permanently name our annual Investigator of the Year award in honor of Andy. Naturally, the proposal was unanimously passed.

The Ohio Chapter's annual Investigator of the Year award will now and forever more be known as the "Ohio IASIU M. Andrew Sway Investigator of the Year Award".
In 2020, to include additional classifications of insurance professionals, the name of the award was updated to the "M. Andrew Sway Award for Outstanding Service to Combat Insurance Fraud Award."
